New record source - 1939 Register
At the outbreak of the Second World War a National Register was taken, listing the personal details of the 41 million citizens of the UK. The Register was used to issue identity cards, organise rationing and more. Information recorded in the Register includes name, date of birth, marital status, address and occupation. Records from the 1939 Register for England and Wales are now included with all packages.
